M. fell off our bed ...

Few days ago as I was getting ready to go out, I placed M. on our bed with pillows around him. He has been trying to crawl lately, but I did not think that he would actually climb over the pillows.
As I turned I saw him falling and hit the front of his head. My heart stopped beating, I started shaking and wanted to cry.
I immediately picked him up and tried to comfort him. I started breastfeeding him and he stopped crying. He cried for a total of 2 minutes at the most but I was really scared that something might have been wrong. I called the pediatrician and they told me to come right away.
They checked his skull for any bumps, his eye to see if the pupils were the same size, his ears to check for any internal bleeding and made sure that he was still responsive and active like usual.
She also told me to keep an eye for anything abnormal within the next 48 hours.

Here is the list :
- Loss of consciousness
- Bleeding
- Seizure
- swollen area on the scalp
- Blood showing in white of his eyes or change in pupil size
- Vomiting and excessive sleepiness
- Prolonged screaming or crying

I can not tell you how much I regret not paying more attention at that moment. I never though that it would happen to him. This situation as bad as it was really reminded me that I have to pay close attention to him 24/7. And from now on he stays on the floor.with pillow around him .

Month to Month update : 6 Month

{right before the hair cut}
{after - I cut his hair myself and my dad was holding him}
Growth :

M. is 17 pound 8 ounces and 26.5". He wears 9 to 12 month clothes. I had to cut his hair :-(  because
a) he was getting really hot since the weather is changing to a warmer season
b) everyone (that don't know him) kept telling me " is it a boy or a girl ? "or look at how much hair she has".
Seeing him with his hair all short just made me think about the time that has past by, from the night he was born (which was one of the best of my entire life), I just changed completely. Bringing him into this world made me believe that I can do anything and it solidified the doubt in my heart that the reason God created me was to be a mother. As soon as I saw him I knew what I would become. I was made to care for him and cherish him and I will be doing it to the best of my capacity for the rest of my life.

New things he does :

He can sit on his own now, in the morning he likes to play with his little toys and talk at the same time (I think he is singing ahah !) These days I watch him putting together what he knows of the world and trying to crawl over the rug in the living room, bath time turn into a studying session, he loves to try and catch the water, splashing around and grabbing some of the toys that are floating and looking at the one that sunk at the bottom of his tub.

Feeding :

Since he was 4 month old I have started to introduce some fruits and veggies here and there but nothing too formal. the pediatrician also recommended adding a small amount of rice cereal once a day. Now that he is 6 month old his pediatrician recommended adding 2 meals a day, one in the morning and one at night  plus the regular breastfeeding in between. M. LOVES fruits ! veggies not so much but  he still eats them . He has tried banana, apple, grape, pears, prunes,avocado and zucchini.

So here it is for the 6 months update, I could have never imagined I would learn as much about perspective and patience and for most keeping faith in what comes ahead. I've never felt as alive as I do for the past 6 month. I thank god everyday for bringing M. into my life, I love him so much.

Happy 6 month my Baby !

Classic Crepe Recipe

Appreciated from all. Crepes are just a classic. You can make them sweet or salty garnished with fruit or veggies, puffed or  like meringues, with country accent or exotic flavors, Crepes are just irresistible.
This Post is about the traditional "Pate a Crepes" recipe but in later posts I will show you fun ways to garnish them.

PS: I wanted to take a nice picture with all of them stacked on top of one another but everyone kept eating them...

Recipe :      {for about 15 crepes of 22 cm diameter}

3 Eggs
2 Cups of Milk
3 1/2 Table spoon of Butter
2 Cups of Flour
1 Tea spoon of Salt

- In a mixing bowl add the Flour and the Salt dig in the center.
- Break the Eggs in another mixing bowl add the milk and mix vigorously.
- Pour little by little on the Flour and keep mixing.
- Mix with a spatula while bringing in the flour to the middle of the bowl until the dough is smooth and without any clumps.
- Add the melted butter
- Let sit of an hour at room temperature.

It's ready!

- Pass over the pan with a paper towel that you've slightly coated with oil.
- Pour a scoop of the dough while tilting the pan in a circle so the pan is covered. (do not pour to much otherwise it will look like a pancake)
- Let cook for about one minute (medium heat) or until the borders become slightly golden and start to fold on the inside.
- Then turn the Crepe with a spatula and let cook on the other side.

Enjoy your Crepes !!!

{the dough should be fairly liquid so it slides nicely on the pan}

{you can see the sides are folding on the inside - the crepe is ready to be turned}

{this is how it should look like}

Four Things

 I spent most of this week cleaning and organizing the apartment, it's been a mess since my mom went back to France. One of the room that I really would like to completely organize is the Office. It does not feel like an office to me at the moment, it is just too cluttered, so I am going to do a post about "organizing your office" pretty soon, it will be fun.

Here are four things for this week,

Xo

{Dooney and Bourke bag  - Spring must have, a bright bag}

{Stackable rings from Target - I do not wear them all together like that but they were sold together}

{A Recipe organizer binder - yay ! can't wait to organize all my family recipes}

Burger's and things ...

Hello Guys !

Last Sunday was the Japanese Festival in Boston. There was food stands, traditional dance and some raffles.
With the stroller it was nearly impossible to move so we just looked around for few minutes and just moved away from the crowd.
We ate lunch at Four Burgers, a very nice Burger restaurant that serves Organic everything ! Meat, veggies and all their drinks.
I don't eat meat that much so I usually go for the Veggie Burger and let me tell you, it is the best veggie Burger I've ever had. Every time I eat there I am surprised how good it tastes.

So anyways, here are some pics !
