Frozen coffee cubes with milk

{In the ice tray}
I came across this post and I just thought why not use the left over coffee instead of  tossing it?

Because the weather has been so hot lately, I feel a little sluggish in the afternoon and this ice coffee recipe is so great! you don't have to brew a new pot, it gives you the power you need to go through the end of the day and oohhhhh it is so refreshing.

All I did is cover those iced coffee cubes with milk. et Voila !

{Add the milk and allow the iced coffee cubes to melt a little}
{So good!}

Planning a Wedding - Update

Hello Ladies !

We have made a slight change to our wedding, instead of going to the Dominican republic we will be having our wedding in my Dad's backyard. Which is an event better idea because now I will be having fun planning it.
For a start I bought two magazines, just to give me an idea of what is going on in the "wedding world" nowadays .

One thing we know, is that the wedding is going to be outdoor and that it is going to be a cocktail reception wedding. which means that the party would be from 4 to 8 pm and we would only be serving hors-d'oeuvre, little sweets and of course we would have a Bar {since it is a cocktail reception}.

We also know that we would like to have a simple yet elegant and chic wedding and I know that I would like lace on my dress.

I will give you more updates when I have more concrete ideas of what would fit us the best. For the next three weeks I will be showing my aunt around, she came yesterday from France, so I won't have as much time to write posts but let me know if you have good tips or ideas for a backyard wedding or cocktail reception party.

Stay Chic !

Over Protective or not ?

I can't help laughing at this video because I know I would be this type of mom if I did not have this voice inside me, reminding me to be reasonable.

Finding the right balance between supervision and freedom is a challenge, and with M. crawling all over the place it is great to start practicing. I want to make sure he gets enough space to explore on his own and not be afraid of being independent. I believe it is never to early to start good habits. Every single detail counts towards nurturing your child's Intelligence, Creativity and Healthy Emotions.

I have been constantly behind M. to make sure he is not going to get hurt with all the "trying to stand on his own or moving from side to side holding on to the couch or the table" all that is scary !!! So I do let him fall on his little bum {with a pillow under of course} sometimes and let him be upset a little because he wants me to pick him up while I do the dishes. Ahhhh it is so hard !!!

That being said ! I am right with you Capri Sun Mom !

DIY : Purple Ombre Swarovski Crystal Necklace

Hello Ladies !

So yesterday I finally made a necklace myself with those cute little Swarovski Crystals. I have been drawn to really simple necklaces lately so I went for a Purple {my favorite color} Ombre look.
I've had so many compliments already!
Tools : Stones {I choose Swarovski crystals}, chain, needle wire, 2 split rings, 1 connector parts, needle nose pliers, wire cutters and flat head pliers.

Step 1 : Figure out how long you want the necklace to be and cut the chain to your desired length.
 Step 2 : Add your stones to the needle wire. I added mine according to color so I had a slight ombre effect.
Step 3 :  Close the loop of the needle just slightly and push it through the last link of the chain - do the same steps on the other end of the chain.

Et Voila !

Now you can Enjoy it !
- you can wear it alone or with other pieces of jewelry.

Outfit of the day - African Tribal Pattern

 Hello Ladies !

This is what I wore today. A tribal pattern shirt {Forever 21} with a green belt {H&M}, a white skinny jean {Old Navy} and yellow ombre wedges{Sam Edelman}. I love this look because it is casual but still cute and these wedges are soooo comfortable.

I hope are doing well and let me know what you think of the outfit.

Stay Chic !

Mini Family Hike

{just starting}

Since M. was born it has been really hard to do any sort of outdoor activity because it is either dangerous or just too much to handle {like the beach for example, he did not like it at all ....} and hiking {small hikes} is a great way to be outdoor and get some exercise.
For M. it is wonderful because he can get some nature in, hear the birds, smell the fresh air and let him touch trees, rocks and leaves. It also give Jeremy and I the opportunity to talk and listen to each other just to catch up on things.

{A huge Bug ! not sure what it is}

Tomato, Mozzarella, Basil Salad

Also known as Insalata Caprese, this Tomato, Mozzarella and Basil dish is one of the most delicious salad for the summer.
To me summer dishes should be made with fresh ingredients that require almost no cooking and this one is for sure one of my favorite.
All I did is cut some small tomatoes topped it with a Basil leaf and fresh Mozzaerella {I really recommend fresh otherwise it does not taste as good}, drizzled olive oil on top, salt, pepper and you are done !
You can also serve it with some charcuterie for the ones that need a little more.

Bon Appetit !

Asymmetrical Hem Dress

 Hello Ladies !

Since a lot of you asked me on the previous Youtube video that I've posted were this dress was from, I decided to do a post about it .

This is a Asymmetrical Hem dress from Target, it is not on their website anymore but you might be able to find it at your local Target store.

Asymmetrical Hem dresses are very popular this spring/summer 2012, they are very flattering to most body types and Ohhhh! so feminine and sensual !

I paired the dress with a pair of brown Peep Toe Pumps from BCBG {old}. I hope you ladies like the look.

Thank you so much for reading !

Twisted Puff Pastry Wand

Hello Everyone !

I have made a lot a pastries over the past few years, but these Twisted Puff Pastry Wands are my hands down favorite. They are good for cocktails, dinners, or desserts because of all the variation that they have to offer.
I personally like them with tea and coffee, but you can eat them with nearly anything. Their flakiness marries really well with ice cream, yogurt parfait, milkshake, hot chocolate or just a glass of milk.

I found this recipe that is very close to the one I made, but I used 1/4 of a cup of sugar for the whole batch, instead of the 1/2 a cup and they came out perfect !
